How to link to an expanded question in accordion menu markdown block?

I added anchor links to my accordion menu using the markdown block and some CSS and jQuery, but I would like the question to expand automatically when the anchor links are used. The rest of the page functions just how I would like—users that end up on the page organically can toggle through each question—but when I send a specific anchor link to a user, I'd like the question to automatically expand.

I'd ideally like to find a way to do this that also doesn't mess with the spacing or the hover color.

I'm using Squarespace 7.0 with the Bedford template.

You can get the hash value in url and find the matched faq item in order to expand it

I think I have the same question... 

I have an anchor link on the menu (about) and would like that when clicked from the menu, the linked accordion opens automatically. Today it jumps to place but because it is not open, it looks like it navigates to the section below "about".

yes! I mean that when we click "about" from the menu, the user will be taken to see exactly the image above, the about accordion open. Is it possible, to automatically open an accordion from an anchor link in the menu?

Are you okay with how you have it setup now, with the accordion item always open?
