Customizing captions/text on gallery images

Hey there,

I am working on a camera gear rental website and I have run into some issues when it comes to formatting. I want to have all of my equipment listed on a catalogue which I have a part of it currently setup. Since I am using a image gallery to display the gear it only allows me to use a simple caption to write down the equipment name. I want to be able to caption the gears daily rental price somewhere on or around this image in a pleasing way. I don't want to use the standard caption font, or size. I would prefer to have the price listed somewhere on the image in a bolder font, but even if it was next to the current caption I would want it to be a different font, color and size.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a reason why you are using an image gallery instead of a Store page? The Store page would automatically include the product title and price.

Thanks for the reply!

I am not actually selling any products over the website. All financial transactions are happening in person or by invoice. I couldn't figure out a way to not have payment be mandatory using the store pages.

Also, I will be using a quote/estimate system for sending invoices with prices so the only way to do that in squarespace currently is using custom forms

Sure, I understand. Usually, Store pages are still a better option (they offer image zoom and so on) and if required you can use a line of code to hide the Add to Cart button to prevent purchase.

If it helps, we provide solutions that can help with enquiries when you want to process payments in person or by invoice:

If you have questions about the extensions, feel free to reach out.

The wishlist extension may be the answer to my problem... I am going to give it a shot and I will let you know if it works for me!

Thank you very much for the suggestion

Would this (wishlist) work alongside a cart?

The Wishlist extension replaces the cart. The wishlist and cart can't coexist on the same site.

Custom solutions are possible, but as the requirements vary widely from merchant to merchant, these generally require a consultation and some code specific to the site. Custom requirements are managed via the Squarespace Marketplace.

I'm always interested to hear from anyone who has requirements they cannot meet. Although I can't answer all requests personally, they are all considered for future products. 🙂
