Things looking funky on mobile?

Hey there, friends.

Is there a way that I don't know about to set your site up for optimized mobile viewing? Sorry -- rookie question?

My site seems to look different from device to device. The first picture below is how my landing page looks on my device and on some others (this is how it SHOULD look); yet on some other devices still, two prominent words are hyphenated and carry down to the next line (NOT ideal -- my website is for an editing business, and this formatting looks pretty bad). I have tried tweaking, but am wondering if there is something I am missing.

I am having similiar issues with my site, strange carry-over on the bottom of a page, but not all of them.
