Custom Shipping option based on product form delivery date

Hi Guys,

 

Would be amazing to get some help on this one.

We sell High tea and food snacks from our website. We have product forms working so if a customer ads a product to the cart - they need to select their desired delivery date from the product form. 

We have 2 shipping options - Standard delivery and Next Day delivery.

I would like to make it so if a customer selects next day as their desired delivery date - then in the checkout page under shipping options only our next day delivery option shows.

Currently we are experiencing many customers selecting next day delivery from the product form and then selecting standard delivery in the checkout page.


Any advice would help!

Unfortunately this is one of those things that you cannot change, because the checkout page is locked and, apart from being able to add a form, it is completely locked down. All that you can do to try to mitigate this issue is add additional customer messaging, but it isn't a great user experience and will likely result in some admin issues for you, needing to follow-up on these orders. 

I find that the checkout restrictions are a major barrier to progress. All we need is a way to send 'requests' to the checkout page (through an API or JS) to allow us to override the defaults and we would be able to use simple lines of code to allow us to select Next Day instead of the cheapest option. I have discussed this issue in detail with Squarespace as recently as this week and I don't expect they will offer a solution for this issue any time soon (21/22).
