Background video // Low quality

Hi there,

I think this is an issue lots of people have encountered, but I couldn't find any appopriate solution digging on the forum... I uploaded a video on YouTube in order to use it as a background for my website. Problem is, the video, which is originally quite good in terms of quality, appears very low res on Squarespace.

The quality is fine on YouTube, as long as you specify "HD" in the settings.

Is there a way to force SquareSpace to use the HD version of the video while stremaing on my website ?

What solutions could there be, to help improving the video quality ? Is it possible to embed the video instead of using YouTube link ?

Given that I already applied all the advices given by SquareSpace on this link : https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/218562738-Adding-background-videos?&_ga=2.260837517.1875337006.1626964554-256079455.1626102062#toc-design-tips

Hi. You can upload video to your Squarespace site, then add it via this Code Block. Then share link to page where you added Code Block, we can give the code to make video fullwidth, same as video background.

<video width="320" height="240" controls>
  <source src="enter video url you just uploaded here" type="video/mp4">
  Your browser does not support the video tag.
</video>
