url mapping redirects unreliable

i have setup some redirects to help make shorter links on the page that are easier to share and maintain..

For example..
https://microns-explorer.org/mm3/bipolar_cells

goes to 

https://ngl.microns-explorer.org/#!gs://microns-static-links/mm3/bipolar_cells.json

those links seem to work fine when going to them directly, but when clicking them off of a page, they seem to work the first time they are clicked on and then don't the second time.
