Template Design: How To Keep A Demo Site Up?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to Squarespace, but not new to web design, and I see selling templates on Squarespace a great opportunity to start a small business. However, I am unsure about how to go about keeping demo sites up for clients to preview. If the free trial ends in 14 days (which may be extended to 21 from what I've seen), how are people able to keep their sites up to showcase their templates?

I assume they're not paying for a domain to highlight each template. I see that sellers still have the customdomtain.squarespace.com for their demo template sites, but how are they able to continually keep their site their domain ending in ".squarespace.com" if it runs out? I know there's the Circle members whose free trial lasts 6 months I think, but as someone just getting started, I don't have the qualifications/finances to support 3 sites at a time right now.

Maybe someone out there has better insight out there that could help, and hopefully my question made sense! 🙂

New member, you have 2 week trials, then you can contact Squarespace Customer Care to extend it (free). You can do it multiple times.

You can also contact a Circle Member, ask them to help create a starter template, then transfer the ownership to you, so you will have a 6 month trial, and can renew it for free after the end of 6 months.

Email me if you have need any help (free, of course.). Answer within 24 hours.
