Problem with Address autocomplete (Squarespace scheduling)

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Really hoping someone can help me.   Our customers enter an address when booking, but the address autocomplete functionality is terrible!

If the customer uses the autocomplete, it does not include the town or postcode (we are UK based).

When the bookings come in, half of the customers address is missing (we travel to their address to carry out car valeting).

We've added clear instructions on the form to say "Please ensure your full address is provided" but customers are still using the auto complete.

I emailed acuity and they advised address autocomplete can not be disabled 😞

Can anyone think of a workaround?

We tried adding a seperate text field for postcode, which works ok but it means when the address comes through in our calendars we can't just click the address to view it on the map (which is what our drivers currently do), as the postcode is a seperate field.

Any ideas?

Can you provide the community with a working link to the relevant page on the site so that we can see the issue?

Sure thing,

If you select a date from this page > https://www.urban-valet.com/single-car-booking-standard-size

You will see the address lookup.  I've since spoken to acuity and they have advised that there is no way of disabling the auto address lookup.

I've added text to the page to make it really obvious we need a full address, and also added a checkbox.

That seems to be helping

That's good.

It is possible to prevent the auto-suggestions from appearing, but to do so you'll need to be on the highest plan - Powerhouse ($45/$50 per month).

I have experienced the same issue today on my site while testing. The first and second lines of address are not populating. Console log shows an error:

TypeError: e.inputElementRef.focus is not a function. (In 'e.inputElementRef.focus()', 'e.inputElementRef.focus' is undefined)
