How to keep the category navigation on the single product detail page.

I'm trying to keep the "categories" on the top of the product pages after a visitor clicks on a product to see more details. My clients wants people to be able to click through the categories from the top of each individual item page, instead of backtracking through the breadcrumbs. Currently, it's just the product description page, and no categories above it. Just click back links.
