Custom Checkout Add-On Items only after purchase

Hello - I'm new to Squarespace development, so I'm really not sure what is capable within the UI, but what I'd like to do is....

• have item(s) (we'll call them a, b, c) loaded into the store inventory, however...
• these item(s) would not be available to order from the store site
• some item(s) (we'll call them d, e, f) would be available to purchase from the store
• after a user adds an available item (d, e, f) to their cart, items (a, b, c) would become available as add-on's to the cart

Basically, I only want certain items available as add-on's but others available all the time.  I know how to do this with .NET code using C#, but wasn't sure if this is possible, or how I would do it, inside of the available UI. 

Any help and guidance is very much appreciated!!!
