Exclude tag/category within a blog summary

Hello,

Is there a way I can display a blog summary which excludes a specific tag?

I'm creating a blog page that will host all blog posts (as summaries) and I'd like to show a featured blog post at the top, large. Underneath this I will include the grid of summaries but i dont want that featured blog post repeated in the grid.

Is this possible? If so, I'd love to know how.
