Drip Email Campaign for Member Area sign ups?

Hi everyone I'm wondering if anyone can help with this? I'm trying to see how to run an automatic email drip campaign via Squarespace email campaigns when someone signs up to our member area on our site. Prior to us using the new member area, we used the 'subscription' product for our online services. That was easy to set up an automatic drip feed email campaign, as you selected the product in question and followed the steps etc. I can't see how to do something similar with the member area signups that we now use instead. I know there is the welcome and cancellation email notifications that members get. I know that I can 'add' members to a new email list and then send bulk campaigns to that group. But is there no way for new member area signups to automatically be added to an email list for the purpose of automation emails, and is there now way to do a drip feed campaign similar to that of subscription purchases?

I hope that makes sense and I'd be grateful for any help/solutions.
