How to make ‘sold out’ button appear when products are sold out on Hayden template

Hello everyone 

I am hoping you may be able to help me. I am using the Hayden template, and am trying to make the words ‘sold out’ appear either as a light box or instead of the price on items in my shop that will be sold. Is there any way I can do this? I do not have the ‘products status’ section enabled on my design site styles because of the template that I am using. I am also really new to all of this so I do apologise if I am missing any crucial info or if I have overlooked anything obvious!
