JacquelineSweet
I'm selling a digital product--book cover art--and I need to be able to limit the inventory so that each product is sold only once. But I can't seem to change the stock from infinite. Can anyone help? Link to comment
Solution paul2009 Posted May 5, 2021 Solution Share Posted May 5, 2021 Squarespace defines Digital products as files that the customer can download. For example, a PDF, JPEG or ZIP file. As electronic files can be downloaded an infinite number of times, you cannot change the stock level. To manage the inventory of a product you must add the product as a Service product instead, and then manually send the digital product to the customer. About me: I've been a SQSP User for 18 yrs. JacquelineSweet
So it's impossible on SquareSpace to limit a digital product to just one inventory item? That's insane. Link to comment

See Before you begin in the Digital Products guide: It's not possible to set the quantity or add variants for digital products. About me: I've been a SQSP User for 18 yrs. matikdesign
this is soooo annoying! i sell exclusive artworks for cd covers, the whole point of setting up the digital store was so it was frictionless and customers can get instant downloads, this needs to be addressed. This is a dealbreaker for me unfortunately and im moving from squarespace to another platform after almost 5 years. Edited July 16, 2022 by matikdesign benmsamuels 1 Link to comment

I will also be leaving SquareSpace because of their inadequacies. Link to comment
celesteduff Posted yesterday at 03:01 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:01 AM Any chance the ability to limit the amount of downloads has been addressed? I too need to limit a download for exclusive content. I understand Shopify offers this ability. Can this be an option on Squarespace? Link to comment
