Setting Up Shipping Methods for a Customer

I have a client on the Basic Commerce package for their website. I am on the setting up shipping options step and preferably I want to offer real-time shipping rates with UPS and USPS as the options, based upon the weight of the product. What is the best and easiest way to set this up? Does my client need the Advanced Commerce plan to achieve this? Any advice would be great!
