Question to devs: CSS to style Markdown instead of HTML

My FAQ page uses accordion-style dropdowns. The text is written in HTML and is a pain to edit.

I would like to switch to a Markdown solution and am wondering if the CSS used to style the HTML can be applied whole or in part to Markdown blocks. If some rewriting is needed, how complex would it be?
