I no longer have the ability to edit quotes

Yesterday I added two quotes to my site and was able to edit them freely. Today, when I go to 'edit' and hover over the text nothing happens. There is no longer an option to edit the text. And when I try and create a new quote it just auto fills with the default text and doesn't allow me to change it. The only thing I can do is drag the quote around or delete it.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I've attached screenshots for reference.

Having the exact same problem and I can't even drag or delete it. Grumpy as I wanted to get a blog post done by end of day...

I'm just using text right now as a workaround. Not a huge deal tbh but it would be nice if this could be fixed. 

squarespace is becoming a joke... a lot of staple capabilities competitors offer are now upcharges here, then there's this quote thing not working... I'm beginning to suspect this is an all flash, no substance platform.

welcome to the Apple generation of dumbing things down SO much, a tool becomes unusable.

Left click on Quote text >> You will see some icons to edit.
