Analytics Not Matching With Google

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I primarily use Google Analytics to track my website, but today I noticed something when I compared the data to Squarespace's analytics.

First, I just completed building two pages, and over the last couple of days I have edited the pages a few times. I noticed that Google Analytics counted those edits as page views. Is there a way to exclude Squarespace edits from being counted? I know you can exclude your IP address, but for some reason I've found that doesn't always work.

Secondly, there is a large difference between the two analytics. If I look at my Squarespace analytics, it says I got 7,214 pageviews from 3,834 visitors in the last 30 days. Whereas over on Google Analytics, for the same period, it says 22,266 pageviews from 3,036 visitors. So a 15,052 difference in pageviews.

Does anyone have any insights into this?
