Looking for some code to remove or hide the content page of a blog in squarespace

Recommended Posts

Site URL: https://www.seaforestation.com/

Hi everyone!

I am curating content for my website seaforestation.com and would love to use the blog structure to give dynamisms to it and have the feeling that news are updated regularly. Because the content is outside of my website I don't need the blog article with the content inside my website, so I would like to get rid of it. Long story short, If a blog is compose of 2 pages I only need the first one displaying all the grid of articles. Any ideas? Thank you!

this is what I want to hide or delete

This is the link to the blog article display

https://www.seaforestation.com/blog-2

Then every article has the content like this

https://www.seaforestation.com/blog-2/blog-post-title-two-h8tf4

https://www.seaforestation.com/blog-2/blog-post-title-three-m26pk

https://www.seaforestation.com/blog-2/blog-post-title-four-55mdr

That I would like to make invisible or delete 🙂

Then my question would be, every time I will create a entry in the blog, Should I put the code to delete the content page?

Thank you!!!

Add this to Blog-2 Page Header (Hover on Blog on Navigation or Not Linked > Click Gear icon to open Page Header)

<style>
  .blog-item-wrapper.blog-basic-grid-item-wrapper {
    display: none;
}
  section.item-pagination.item-pagination--prev-next {
    display: none;
}
</style>

Thank you so much! I think I have an idea. Because now what is happening is that if one click in the picture of the blog article leads you to a blank page. Here the example

https://www.seaforestation.com/blog-2/gmdf4vu6b0xjxby5h2egj5dj35fx51

I made the header of each blog links to the article outside of my website. But the picture link is the problem. Would be possible to disable the picture link?

Cheers!!

Do you think a variation on the code in the following post would meet your needs?

The code would need to be adapted to work with v7.1.

Hi @creedon! Thank you so much for this amazing resource! I've followed the instructions however it doesn't seem to be working for me. Would you be able to take a look?

https://andasanas.com/book-buy

I'd like all of the bordered cards to open in a new window, and the green cards (need free yoga/want free yoga) to open in the same window.

It appears you've installed twcsl but have not done the second step of installing the change blog listing item image URL to Source URL code.

But before you do that. The code is designed to work on blog page listings with images. On the page you point to, it appears you are using summary blocks. My code does nothing to those. Also I see no images on the blog page I checked so my code wouldn't work there either.

Hi @creedon! Thanks for sharing these tips! I think I'm having some similar issues and would love your help 🙏

I'm trying to add a portfolio/blog like this to my site. It will have logos for different businesses that when selected, redirect to an outside URL.

I just followed your instructions but am still seeing the blog text pages appear. I'm on the trial plan. In Step 3 of your instructions it says "jQuery must be before the twcsl code" -- I'm not sure what that means, so maybe that's what's missing?

Anyway, please let me know if you have any advice or tips on making a blog or portfolio that allows redirects to outside URLs! I like that the blog allows for tags.

Thank you!!

jQuery and twcsl appear to be installed correctly.

Have you set a source URL for your blog posts and toggled Link Post Title to Source URL?

Hi @Creedon - Is it possible to have the code automatically applied to ALL blog pages? I have a set up where I have ~10 Blogs on a site and would like it so that this scenario is the default for all of those blog pages.

URL to one of the blogs, where I have sucessfully installed your code and it is working great: https://marlow-concept-local-foreigner.squarespace.com/venues-rome

Yes. The code was already capable of doing this. I just needed to add install instructions for a Site-wide installation.

Go to my post, follow the link, read the new Site-wide install instruction.

Let us know how it goes.
