CSS not applying to Filter on product page

I would like to force a dropdown menu for the filter categories like the mobile design shows. When applying the CSS it appears correct in the Custom CSS area but once saved and viewed live it doesn't apply. Below is the code which I applied and I cannot seem to figure out the issue:

    .ProductList-grid {

}
