Markhed
How do I insert meta tags for SEO purposes? Link to comment
gmcdonough
Seems like a pretty straight forward question that lots of people are thinking. There is nothing mentioned in the help logs. I have done this without issue on my other two sites hosted elsewhere without issue. Can someone from Squarespace answer this question? Link to comment

gmcdonough
Here is the response I received from tech support. "we don't have any info about meta tags, really, on the help site, is because we don't recommend adding meta keywords, as search engines don't use them. However, you can still add them to the Header code injection area for site wide tags or in individual pages under the Advanced tab of the page settings using the Page Header injection points. But please be advised that we don't offer customer care for custom CSS like that."Personally, I believe that while Google says it does not look at meta tags, many other search engines do. I can also tell you that my stats increased by 20% by adding/updating meta tags to my two other sites that I host elsewhere. Link to comment

Guest
so... it should work too if I insert title, description and tags for that photo online? Or is this importing only triggered when uploading? You have an info about that too? Link to comment
DanC
Absolutely, you can edit the information about each image on line, the adding of tag info to the image itself just eliminates the need to add it into the image on line. I prefer to add the tag information to my photo images so the information stays with the images, in case I need to upload again, use them for some other purpose, etc. Hope this helps! Link to comment
