PayPal Checkout keeps erasing the "City" field, causing customers to be unable to check out!

I need some urgent help please, PayPal is basically blocking all purchases now due to a silly glitch of sorts.

What happening now:

  • Customer adds items to Cart, clicks on Check Out - No problem
  • Customer fills in Email, and full Shipping Address - No problem
  • Customer chooses PayPal as a Check Out option - No problem
  • PayPal Login Page appears with their default shipping address + payment method - No problem
  • PayPal automatically deletes the "City Field", causing an error.

Workaround:

  • Customer needs to go BACK a step and edit their previous step (Shipping Address), adding in their City and clicking Apply, which is not intuitive at all, because:
    • PayPal does NOT indicate where the error is
    • The error is "behind" them in the process, not "in front".

Any ideas?

This isn't something that the Squarespace community can fix. 

There are currently no reported issues with PayPal or reported issues with Squarespace, so you'll want to reach out to them directly about the issues you are experiencing. You can reach out to Squarespace Customer Care here.

If PayPal purchases are currently problematic, you may want to add an announcement bar to your site to explain the situation to customers.

Hey guys, 

I am still facing the same problem here. All these while I am using Service under my product and seems fine. Only today I am facing the 'City' field that makes my client unable to check out.

Can anyone assist me in this matter as this is affecting business.

As mentioned above, this isn't something that the Squarespace community can assist you with. Customers must complete this field with something (such as Singapore) and we cannot change this because the checkout page is locked and cannot be changed, except by Squarespace themselves. You can reach out to Squarespace Customer Care here.
