Hi Circle Crew :)

Just trying to connect SP's "order API" to a 3PL called Carton Cloud.

We have upgraded to the Commerce Plan and we are able to generate the API for Read Only "Orders", but alas the 3PL have their own OAtuh API & sandbox environment they wish us to use ..... I believe OAuth API's are not a SP option.. 

So Carton Cloud created an app invite via Zapier for us to try and connect that way, but Zapier only has a form Submission API request, unrelated to Orders. NOTE Shipstation Seem to have a solution here via the Form Submission option so it seems doable.. ?  So I reached out to Zapier and explained the issue and showed them their own link here: https://zapier.com/apps/squarespace/integrations/shipstation

Their Response: Apologies, I wasn't able to properly answer your inquiry. You mentioned that what you're looking for is to get order data from your Squarespace account. I assume the example of those would be something like new or completed order from your Squarespace account.

However, upon checking our notes, that is not possible since the only trigger that our Squarespace app integration is New Form Submission. I do see that there is an open feature request to support e-commerce triggers such as new and completed orders, and I have added you to that request as an interested user.

Question, how the hell do you connect a 3PL to SP haha?

Your assumptions are correct. To use a 3PL (third party logistics) solution with Squarespace, the third party must have created their own Squarespace Extension to connect through the API. Carton Cloud haven’t built one so you won’t be able to automate the connection between the two platforms without another third party connector.

There are other RPA tools available - more advanced than Zapier - but I don't recommend them for this particular purpose because if they break you'll need the technical skills to troubleshoot the issues.

Integromat ( an automation service like zapier ) has a wider range support on Squarespace orders and event, you can give it a try

Thanks for your suggestion I have signed up, but will now need Carton Cloud to setup a private app on their end.

Are you sure we can access the orders API through this solution?

You can try their free plan, it offer 1000 operation calls per month.

Each time an order made it fire event to integromat connector, I dont understand your concern about carbon cloud
