How do I change a page background to use more than one color?

Currently I have my homepage set to a single color, but I'd really like it if I were able to have the page change to a different color after scrolling down a bit. So instead of the whole page being red, for example, when you scroll down the next color could be blue. I'm not thinking like a gradient, more like distinct blocks of colors.
