Sorry if the title is a little click bait, but I watch a few photographers who said video is sponsored by Squarespace.....it's dead simple.....get going in no time at all.....

Yeah right!

I'm struggling at the mo. I have the basic design for what I want so far, I have a blog to write up and put on there as well as a few projects and future exhibition news and images to add and I've got my head around all that.

Where I'm struggling is the shop. I haven't even looked at CEO yet as until I crack the shop and get it working I see no point.

I was hoping, given that every image in a gallery has a file name that I could make a template for various print sizes and add it to a gallery so users could either click an image for full screen and an option come up next to the image with prices and sizes or, under each image in the gallery would be a drop down with print prices and sizes etc.

This is not the case!

I'm using the Avenue template at the moment and from speaking with the email support team they said I should use the Brine template instead.

When I install that template and view it, it doesn't remember any of my content, any of my galleries etc and I have to start from a fresh.

I'm kind of feeling a little like I've been sucked in as I guess some will find this all very easy and I'm pretty technically minded but right now, I'm feeling defeated and thinking the grass wasn't greener on the other side.

If anyone could help out I would be eternally grateful, seems the last piece of the puzzle, that's the point of the website, is out of reach for me and it kind of makes it all pointless as I can't create revenue if people can't buy direct.

Although the Avenue template was designed for photographers, it is now 9 years old. Although it can look good, it lacks many of the features that are available on newer templates.

For example, Avenue does not have the Advanced Commerce features that are available in the Brine family of templates (Squarespace 7.0). Nor does it have the improved "Product Collections" available on Squarespace 7.1.

If you're struggling with the Squarespace platform in general, there are a number of resources available to help you, including the Getting Started with Squarespace video series for both Squarespace 7.1 or Squarespace 7.0 (see the pages that I've linked).

If you're struggling to do certain, specific things, you may want to consider hiring a Squarespace Trainer or Squarespace Expert for an hour to help get you started on your journey. Individually targeted 'Screen share' sessions are really effective because the agenda will help you with your 'to-do' list.

I hope this helps.
