Limiting order per day across all inventory

Is there a way to limit the number of orders my site can accept per day? I know I can limit my inventory per cake but that's not the best solution.

I am a home baker and would like to limit the amount of cakes that are ordered per day.. Please help.

I think you gotta tackle Squarespace API to tracking number of orders and update the inventory accordingly
