Image that breaks sections

Hey Forum! I'm messing around with a custom code to float an image between sections in Squarespace 7.1. This isn't usually an issue BUT this time I'm also playing with custom section clips (clippy.com) which DOES add a layer of complexity to things. I'm having a little trouble getting the main image (lady in the circle) overlaying with the first section background without being cut off. I've tried messing with the "z-index" but that doesn't seem to be the issue. I've tried "overflow: visible;" but that isn't it either... Any ideas?
