hi all - using the wells template, i'm looking for a clean way to add a descriptive paragraph at the beginning of a gallery. not a caption for an individual photo but a way to describe a project. i thought about maybe having the first photo in the gallery be smaller than the others but i don't know if that's possible... nor do i necessarily love the idea.

any and all thoughts welcome and appreciated.

I have no idea on the technical side. I will say that I was puzzled about how to find your galleries (full disclosure: I'm new to this game) until I floated the cursor over an image and tried clicking. My personal preference is to give more freedom to viewers to explore rather than guiding them on a linear tour through each gallery, in which case you could have a text block above the gallery; but if you're going to have visitors click through as you do, maybe a sort of generic-but-apropos first picture with text over it might be a possibility?

That's helpful... thanks! I like the idea of text over a photo but I'm not sure how that would work on mobile.

Thanks!

Hi Joe,

Great photos!  One option to add a description would be to add a text box below the gallery that describes each project.

You could also have the first photo of the gallery be your description - since it always defaults back to the first photo.  Then users can click through after the description.  If you go with that option you may want to add visible arrows to the gallery so users know to click through.
