how to turn off hyphenation within a text?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm having a problem with the hyphenation and have already tried all the CSS ideas I found here. On the website I linked is at the left side "triff Reinhold via Zoom". When you shrink the page from one side "Reinhold" is getting "Reinhol" and the "d" is jumping into the next paragraph. Why? Why only there between the seventh and eighth letter? I really would like to stop that. Can anyone help me here?

Thank you!

Try adding this to Design > Custom CSS

p,h1,h2,h3 {
    -webkit-hyphens: manual !important;
    -moz-hyphens: manual !important;
    -ms-hyphens: manual !important;
    hyphens: manual !important
}

It looks like it's  "better". It's staying together much longer but in the end the d jumps into the next row and only after that the side column disappears (due to the settings when the frame becomes too small).

.... so still no idea how to stop it completely from splitting the word.

Try new code

p, h1, h2, h3, a {
    -webkit-hyphens: manual !important;
    -moz-hyphens: manual !important;
    -ms-hyphens: manual !important;
    hyphens: manual !important;
}

When I am editing my site, it looks fine in mobile view but when I look at the site live on my iPhone this is how it appears. It breaks the word into another line - how do I keep words together?

Try adding this to Custom CSS to prevent automatic hyphenation:

// disable automatic hyphenation for headings
h1, h2, h3, h4 {
  hyphens: manual !important;
  -webkit-hyphens: manual !important;
  -moz-hyphens: manual !important;
  -ms-hyphens: manual !important;
}
