Sitewide Black Background on 7.1 Trial Site

Hello! 

I am new to 7.1 and am having trouble with the site-wide background color being black. I can easily change it with theme editor, but my problem is when I use a transparent png file as a background image the background turns black. Even if it is supposed to be a white background. 

Any advice would be appreciated!

I am having the same issue...except mine is set to white.

I know I have uploaded a PNG background image and got a "clear" background which reflected whatever the section background color was set to. But now I'm not getting this result.

Anyone? Is this a glitch?

@Nora-Creative hey! I contacted SQS Support and this *is* a glitch. They don't know when it will be fixed but it has been submitted to the Engineers.

I would contact SQS Support and tell them you are also having this issue. The more people who bring this to their attention, hopefully the faster they will fix this. 

Can you share link to a page where you have problem? We can use code to fix this (not sure)

@melbeestudio I found out how to fix this. Another designer told me you can change the setting on the Squarespace mobile app. It is under site styles, colors, site theme. Then you select the "default" color theme. Who knows why you can only change this on the mobile app 🤨

I can no longer change the site theme even in mobile... how to we get squarespace to return this function. It is really a must have.
