Has the Editing Tools disappeared?

Hello!

Is it jut me or has something happened to the editing tools? For example when hovering over a section I don't see the edit tools anymore.

Help!

I am currently using Firefox on Windows 10.

I also can not edit my pages. I can log into my working site and when I select a page to edit the "EDIT" button does not change and I can not add or change any of the page elements. Even if I create a brand new page I can not add any text or image blocks.

SS 7.1 Template Mac OS Safari. However I can edit page content in Chrome.

Thanks for your reply. That's exactly what's been happening to me too.

I had a chat with Squarespace help and they asked me to take out everything in my Custom CSS box. After clearing my cache, the editing tools miraculously returned! Apparently I need to troubleshoot every line in my Custom CSS to see which one is the culprit. I haven't had the time to do this yet though.

So apparently sometimes when SS is updated, any custom code might break the editing pages. Crazy, eh?

Hmm, interesting. Odd that Chrome is just fine, my iPad is fine buy desktop MacOS and Safari aren’t .

Tried your solution, nada! No response from SS on my ticket either, I guess I'll be on the phone with them next.

Finally got a response from SS on my ticket, here's their reply, BTW I am using Safari v12.1:

"After looking into this, I can confirm that we are experiencing an issue with editing some Squarespace sites on older versions of the Safari browser. We’ve reported this to our Engineering team, and they’re currently prioritizing the issue.

Please keep in mind that there are many moving parts we need to address before we roll out a solution. We thoroughly test all fixes before they’re released to ensure they don’t affect other Squarespace components or customers."

As of Feb. 03, the issue of not being able to edit my SS site in Mac OS Safari 12.1 has been resolved, yay!

Sept. 12, 2022 -- On a Mac 2021 Mini -- In both Firefox and Chrome, the text edit bar disappears when I'm about halfway down a page I'm working on. I can see it momentarily as I scroll up and down, but I can't *capture* it and have it work for me. At a standstill on adding hyperlinks at the moment. Can anybody help? TIA

Currently having this exact issue. It is infuriating. Any answers?
