dalewis123
I am trying to split a section in half horizontally with one half a text block and the other half an image (see attached). Does anyone know how to achieve this? Very frustrating as you would think this would be a basic and common SquareSpace layout approach... Thank you in advance! D- Link to comment
kherzog
@dalewis123 Watch this Split Screen Layout for 7.1 video and use the Custom CSS code by Squarespace CSS expert @inside_the_square Link to comment
derricksrandomviews
If using 7.0 this layout and a similiar one are included in the landing/cover pages. Flash and Spotlight are their names. One has the image on the right, the other the left and both have some extra enhancements. Edited January 27, 2021 by derricksrandomviews Link to comment
kherzog
@dalewis123 Second option is to watch Will Meyer's Split Screen Layout Design in Squarespace 7.1 video and get CSS code. He has several methods depending on whether you want to add blocks on both sides of the split layout. Will offers a split layout pack for $10.00 giving you access to code for more layouts, including Multiple Split Sections (2 or more across). Link to comment
dalewis123
Thank you both so much! So after looking everywhere for days, this design cannot be accomplished without coding... correct?I was trying to avoid that, but will give it a shot. I am on V7.1, @derricksrandomviews. 10 minutes ago, derricksrandomviews said: If using 7.0 this layout is one of the included landing/cover pages. kherzog 1 Link to comment

dalewis123
Thanks, Derrick. I am going to purchase the plugin @kherzog mentioned. Save a ton of time. Greatly appreciate the support. Be well! kherzog 1 Link to comment
kherzog
@dalewis123 You need code to achieve split layout per your design comp above. You can set section width to large and add a card block that spans the entire section, but the block will still be inset with a border. You can use code to make it full width, but I prefer look of the other methods that are better for responsive design on mobile. I'm glad you'll be ordering Will Myer's split layout plugin. Contact him with any issues using the plugin. He's very responsive to customer questions. Good luck with your website project! dalewis123 1 Link to comment
