Can't transfer ownership to contributor

I'm trying to transfer my site ownership to another e-mail - But the dropdown menu to select a contributor and make him and owner isn't working for me. Screenshot attached. HELP!

I have a company website, and an individual portfolio - And I'd like to move both the websites to one account - Is there an easier way to do that?

Have you tried changing contributor permission to admin then transfer ownership yet?

I am trying to transfer ownership of a website to a client. I have successfully done this before. Has anyone gotten this error and found a fix?

I had to clear my cache. Hopefully its that easy for you.

Clear your cache and that should do it!

Has anyone got an answer to this problem as I have tried a number of ways to problem solve this.  Squarespace haven't responded to my ticket.

Same here. Built a site using my personal gmail account. Set up a Business account and want to transfer. New account is listed as admin but nothing in the drop down. Always something with f@$%&ing web design

I figured it out guys, thank me later 😛 see screenshot below.

There was a bit of tooing and frowing, but I think this is what got it to work.

After you accept the invite in incognito mode, go back to the account you want to change ownership FROM and change the 'Administration' permissions to 'off' for the account you want to transfer squarespace to.. I think from this, the new account you want to take over as ownership, will finally be there to click in the drop down.

I am having same problem and did all of the above. If I change my admin to off, how can I transfer it. I don't want my client to work thru this. As I remember the client gets an email that prompts them to pay.

Then I thought my client has not accepted the invite I sent. I can't tell if they accepted or not.

Solution-- the client (with an account) has to have accepted the invite. So instead of saying "Invite sent", it should say Admin under their name.
