gallery: customize the size of the caption indicator button?

Using the Carson template.

On the gallery pages is it possible to make the "caption indicator" button more noticeable? The template allows me to customize the color, but I am still certain that visitors will miss it. Is there a way to make it slightly larger? Or make it make it pulse slowly? Appreciate any ideas or suggestions.
