Display Logo Over Image in Portfolio Thumbnail

I really love the way this website https://cycle.media/ displays the logo at the center of the portfolio image and it pops when you hover while the background image darkens. I'm using 7.1 and would like to add an effect like this to our portfolio thumbnails. 

Would love some css help!

The site link is for a Wordpress/Cloudflare hosted site, what Squaresapce template would you use this effect? That is if there is code for it to work?

I'd like to get the design closer to that wordpress display if that's possible.

Each project will need different code. You have 9 projects, you will need 9 code to add 9 logos. If you add a new project, you will need to add a new code.

If you still want to continue, let me know. We will give the code to add logo on hover.
