DDD7 Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Hi, I'm new to using more advanced features of the SquareSpace platform, and am curious as to what the workflow would be for setting up a database with Squarespace would be (whether we set it up in SquareSpace or set it up elsewhere then access it on SquareSpace through API or some other integration). As an example, say we had the following cascading data models/structure: Car Manufacturers {Ford, GM, Tesla} => Car Models {for Ford: Mustang, Fusion, Expedition} => Body Style {For Mustang: Coupe or Convertible} And I want to allow the user to click on Ford, see the car models, then click on Mustang, see the body style options, and then choose coupe, as an example. Maybe even allow them to compare one car with another. Can squarespace support this type of functionality? If I have a heroku page, can I just bring it in through API?Alternatively, can I do some routing/domain sharing solution instead where: I havewebsite.com which leads to the SquareSpace page and website.com/cars which leads to the Heroku page I appreciate any perspectives you could share.
derricksrandomviews Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Squrespace doesn't have the extensive function built in, it would require a plugin most likely. Thare are motorvhehicles being sold on squarespace like this: https://www.archmotorcycle.com/
DDD7 Posted January 7, 2021 Author Posted January 7, 2021 Thanks Derrick. Is there any documentation or guide for plug-ins? I'm very new to the platform, so any step-by-step type of direction would be ideal.
