Creating Transparent Image Overlay

Hi There! I am looking to create a transparent image overlay with a button ON TOP of my home page.  I have an example site below of what I am looking to do.  Currently working o SquareSpace 7.1.  Thank you for your help!

You can try enable image caption ( inline ) and add this code design->Custom CSS

Thank you for your help but unfortunately it did not work.  If you look at the website I have as an example below that is exactly what I am looking to do.  I want a transparent image overlay with clickable button OVER my home page.  Thank you!
