Removing products without 404-error-page

Hi there,

We are a gallery that has work for sale online during exhibitions, but once that period has come to an end we remove the artworks currently online and upload new ones. 

Is there a way I can 'bulk' redirect them back to the main product page rather than having to individually update the url mapping? Or can I have a specific error page for this i.e 'This artwork is no longer available but please click here to view the selection of works we have available as part of our xxx exhibition.' 

At the moment I have been uploading them to a central product inventory as they sometimes need to be displayed on several pages at once. Would this be the best way to do it or create a new product inventory for each exhibition?
