Adding space between images in reels

I'm trying to create decent-looking slideshows for my site, however the type of gallery I'm looking for isn't available. The closest I've found is the reel but this just places images tight against one another. I'm trying to achieve an effect similar to this:

I assume some custom css is needed, however all I've found in these forums is code that crops images to make room for the space. Can anyone help with how to solve this; it seems to be an issue a lot of folks are having.

Seen a lot of variations of:

.gallery-reel-item img {
    left: 10px;
}

None of which have been particularly helpful. Any ideas?

The effect you want is html code embedded in a GoDaddy website. I inspected the site and  the code is intensive and includes javascript. Looks like a possible plugin. There are folks here who can tell you if it is possible to duplicate on a Squarespace site.
