Reduce the distance between the main image and the thumbnail strip in gallery section

In 7.0 there was a setting to easily change the distance between the main image and the thumbnail strip within a gallery slideshow, but this is gone from 7.1 when using a gallery section with an Image and thumbnails. When captions are turned on, the thumbnails are positioned way too far down. Is there any CSS that can reduce this gap?
