Gallery Blocks, Jump link from Navigation bar

Hi - I am quite new to SquareSpace and I am designing a website for a client. I am hoping someone might be able to help me:

1. I want the navigation items (Rigs and Features) to link/jump to sections on the home page. Is there a way to do this? I have created pages in order to get the section names into the nav bar and I am wondering if I can do some re-direct from these pages which are blank back to the home page and the correct sections.

2. I have added a gallery block plug in and I want to know how I

(a.) remove the grey overlay,

(b.) change the description text to dark grey and

(c.) add a short description to the thumbnail photos.

The inner page navigation can be done using javascript, you can set a special name for the inner page item and use javavascript to trigger scroll when click
