how to get image to fade between images and positioned like this

hi there,

i've created a new test page for my site.

i know how to create a basic slideshow using the template tools... but what i'd love to know if there is a way to have e.g. this image fade between 3/4 images. i dont want controls, or thumbnails, and i want the positioning to be exactly the same as i have it here.

the slideshow template squarespace provides seems to occupy the entire width of the page, and i am not sure how to position it where i want. any help appreciated, and thank you!
