Removing bolding from blog excerpts in Wav template

I'm currently using the WAV template for my site; it's working great. However, in the blog excerpts, whenever I italicize something, it also makes (as in the image below). I'd like to remove the bolding, in this instance, so it's just italicized.

I can't seem to find anything about even how to address the blog excerpt text in CSS, much less how to achieve this. Anyone familiar with this part of the Wav template?

I think that the current font you used make it bold on italic
