Is there a way to change the font color for Gallery titles/descriptions?

I am working with the Avenue template, which uses white text on a very light gray background for Gallery images. This is very difficult to read on images with a primarily white background.  I don't see a way to change this color in the Design tab; is there any way to do this?

I should also add that I have gone through a bunch of templates, and all seem to have white text. 

Add to Home > Design > Custom CSS
