Scheduling Page Updates

Is there a way I can schedule various updates to various pages?

For example content on a /contest page for when weekly contests are open that then switches when it closes at midnight

and

content at /event that can be scheduled to change from a "Check back at this date and time" to the event announcement at the aforementioned date and time. 

Did you ever get an answer for this??

The only real answer is 'no'. You can schedule blog posts so if you've structured your content to work within that block/arrangement and it's authored in a 'post' format, you can't natively schedule site-wide updates within the normal editor. HOWEVER, in developer mode you can since the page content can be implemented in such a way where the it's externally managed and fed into whatever code blocks the content is targeted to render in.
