Multiligual ecommerce site

I am about to create a bilingual ecommerce website, but as this will have a shop, I don't think how squarespace recommend to set it up will work. Can I get a plugin for this or custom coding? Can anyone help on this. Does anyone know of a squarespace ecommerce site with this function that I can have a look at? And I don't want to have topurchase 2 sites. thanks

Squarespace's bilingual guide is for websites without stores. Stores are more difficult because Squarespace does not natively support more than one language or more than one currency in the checkout yet. It isn't possible to add a plugin or code to a Squarespace site to help with this.

The solution will depend on whether you need two currencies or whether one will suffice. For example, in Canada you may only need Canadian Dollars on a French/English site; in Europe you may only need Euros for a site in French, German and Italian.

If you only need one currency for the bilingual site, you may be able to use an external translation service like Weglot to translate the site, including the checkout, into the second language.

If you need two currencies, the options are:

• purchase two Squarespace sites, one for each store/currency.
• use an alternative ecommerce platform that supports more than one currency.
