Home page is not appearing as the default page

Hi There

When you search amandabrandimore.ca you get the below result

When you click on it, it takes me to the "About Amanda" page. This is not the home page setup in squarespace settings. What am I missing? I feel it's because it's not a "Home" page persay. Maybe it's the way I used the tempate? Sorry for the junior question.

Which search engine have you screenshotted? I tried searching 'amandabrandimore.ca' on Google and the first result was your homepage. However when I tried on Bing and Yahoo, I got https://amandabrandimore.ca/index.html , which shows your About page, but is a different URL to https://www.amandabrandimore.ca/about.

Looks like you may want to try indexing your site using Bing Webmaster Tools and submitting your site to be reindexed with Yahoo. 

When you make changes to your site's SEO, this doesn't automatically update with search engines. They only crawl website periodically, so it can take days or even weeks for a search engine to notice any changes you've made to the layout of your site.

That is the issue. I'm using Qwant search engine within my browser. I went to Google and then searched and it's accurate. I think you're right, I need to reindex on the search engines.

@SpencerC I'm having issues with my site being indexed since I switched themes. My homepage no longer appears in the Google search console. I do not see it in the site map, and I have double checked that I am not blocking robots. My homepage is https://paulacastillo.co
