Feedback Suggestion: allow default shipping country to be changed.

Hi,

I'm from the UK, Squarespace seems to get getting pretty big outside of the US. Currently when (UK) Customers go to our checkout page they get greeted with a hefty looking shipping charge. However, this shipping charge is for international shipping as the system has the default country destination set as USA. Our shipping within the UK is free and people seeing the shipping charge straight away on the checkout page is likely to be a real put off and therefore loss of sale (even though they have not yet put in their address).

REQUEST: Please can Squarespace allow the change of the Default Shipping Country (and maybe shipping type if possible) to be changed. This will make a huge difference.

Many Thanks

Sean

Hi Sean

You can already set the default shipping country. You'll find the setting in Commerce > Checkout:

Let me know if this doesn't work for you.

Based in the UK, changed the shipping location in checkout settings but the website doesn't update

Please provide a link to your site. Also, did you refresh the site in your browser after making the change?

Hi @LeaSednaoui

Thanks for the link. Your site doesn't appear to have any Shipping Zones configured for the UK, which is why it may be defaulting to United States.

You'll need to go into Settings > Shipping then click ADD SHIPPING OPTION and create some options where the Shipping Zone is set to United Kingdom. If you have already added some Shipping Options, you may have accidentally set the Shipping Zone to United States.

See Creating shipping zones for more detailed guidance, or post back.
