Maximum Quantities for purchase or checkout

Hello! Is there a way to set a MAXIMUM limit to how much a customer can purchase of each item, like a grocery store with '5 item limit'

We need a way to prevent some customers from purchasing too much and leaving others without items other than a pop-up or in title of item (tried both and nada)
