WAITLIST FOR SPECIFIC CATEGORIES?

Anyone know if you can apply the Waitlist button to a specific category and not the entire site?

I sell consignment clothing so it doesn't make sense to have a waitlist box on those items since there's always only a qty of 1 BUT i'm adding a category selling gift items such as greeting cards so i'll have multiple stock of those and would like to have people select a waitlist for those items.
